PERSONAL NUTRITION

We each have Nutrition needs unique to us. My advice is tailored for you –  different genetics, lifestyles and food likes/ dislikes all need to be considered in advising the best nutrition for your stage in life. Understanding how nutrients are used, and the influence of your gut health to benefit your whole health and wellbeing, are the foundations of my advice. Building on this, together we work towards best health for you and your family.

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

We meet online or in person – ask me about walking together first – it’s a great way for me to listen to your needs and understand what you would like to achieve.

Inform: As a Registered Nutritionist my approach is always using best possible practice with evidence-based nutrition advice, practical for your situation.

Inspire: It’s very important to me to help you sustain the changes we’ve made together and inspire you to keep going!  We keep in touch while we’re working together via a private link, so you can contact me anytime. Book a call to find out more here

SENIOR SCHOOLS – WHY?
Sixth Form Lectures, tailored for Med, Vet, Dent, Science & Geography students, exploring Food security, Global health, Biodiversity, Sustainable food production, the influence of Epigenetics and the Microbiome on health, and Nutrition for Disease Prevention.

Between 11-18 years good food choices are key to cope with the high nutrient demand during growth and development. Equipping teens with the knowledge to fuel themselves correctly, builds resilience and nurtures wellbeing. (2)

Calcium intake is below the minimal level in 20% of 11-18 year old girls, yet bone density reaches its maximum by 18 years of age. Iron intake is below the minimal level in 54% of teenage girls, red meat intake is low and iron is poorly absorbed from plant sources which can lead to tiredness and anaemia. (1)

PRIMARY SCHOOLS – WHY?

With 8 million children in Primary School every day in the UK, schools are a great way to reach out and support children and their families in choosing healthy lifestyles. 22% of children are overweight or obese at 5 years and 34% by age 11. (Public Health England, 2016) Exercise is just as important as nutrition – the recommended amount for primary age children is 60 minutes/ day. Research in The British Journal of Sports Medicine has recently linked increased attainment at GCSE level in children who have good levels of physical activity by age 11.
