FOOD MATTERS – SEPTEMBER

WALK. NOURISH. HEAL

Thank you to Woodoaks Farm in Hertforshire and Peterley Manor Farm in Buckinghamshire for hosting our Walk| Nourish|Heal summer evenings on sustainable food. If you didn’t manage to join this time we’ll be repeating them before too long thanks to wonderful feedback so please let me know if you’re interested! The aim is to share real clarity on eating for people and planet, connect you with nature-friendly food producers and provide practical everyday tips!

LATEST GUT HEALTH RESEARCH

You can now take part in some exciting gut health research to understand how the food you eat impacts your personal gut microbes! The ZOE program is built on robust research, in part from King’s College London, and led by Prof Tim Spector, our UK Gut Health expert.

ROAST OUR WARM AUTUMN HARVEST

Our seasonal fruits are delicious when slow roasted (160 fan for 20 mins) for a quick pudding or topper on your porridge!  Their natural sugars provide a delicious glaze and their precious anti-ageing antioxidants are preserved during cooking.

Damsons and apples work really well – no need to stone the damsons first; simply remove after roasting once they’ve burst open! Try with a dollop of whole, creamy Tims yogurt or Lacey’s family farm Guernsey cream to enjoy the nutritional value of Dairy too –  contact me for more info if you’re confused about dairy vs plant drinks…

PRODUCER SPOTLIGHT

WOODFINE WINE – produced in Buckinghamshire with biodiversity at the heart of everything they do, I was lucky to be invited to find out more from Richard – his wine is a naturally made version of Champagne or English sparkling wine, from regenerative, organic land management, nothing added, nothing wasted. Please use the link to find out more – it’s also a beautiful place to visit – walk among the apple orchards or volunteer in the market garden!
