Spring is finally here and with it comes a desire to refresh! Over the long days of winter I’ve been lucky enough to connect with all that our health needs in addition to great food. Finding inner calm through breathing meditation, the joy of being with others, savouring our food to the point of it being a sacred part of the day… and yes, keeping up with the very latest microbiome research! So why not journey with me on a fresh start this Spring – these practices are doing me a power of good! FOOD NEWS
Why choose Organic? Did you know that without chemicals like pesticides, plants have to develop their natural defences to protect themselves from disease. These bio-actives (known as antioxidants or polyphenols) in plants are activated by our gut bacteria during digestion and actually build our resilience too! They constantly protect us from cell damage by removing potentially harmful by-products of our ‘everyday’ metabolism. This ensures our cells are able to function correctly – like our immune system for example.

This delicious Trout & Watercress Fishcake recipe from Katy at Peterley Manor Farm is the perfect light dish now we’re coming into Spring.
British trout, one of the most sustainable fish we can buy, is low in saturated fat, high in heart-healthy Omega 3 and packed with fabulous nutrients vital for our long-term health.
Pair with a lovely salad (and some edible spring flowers) or some greens for some added nutritional content on your plate.

Perfect whether you’re living with chronic digestive discomfort or if you just want to understand more about how life-changing nurturing gut health can be!

2nd MAY ONLINE – THE GUT BREATH CONNECTION
A 2hr online session with Dr Sally Bell and Breathing Coach David Jackson sharing all their expertise on the beautiful connection between how our breathing can create a happy, relaxed gut.

ORGANIC WINE TASTING, SOIL & GUT HEALTH!
Wednesday May 10th 7.00 – 8.00pm at Woodfine Wine, Newbarn Farm, Seer Green
Enjoy a short walking tour of Woodfine Wine’s beautiful organic vineyard and a glass of their natural sparkling wine whilst you learn all about natural wine making and the wonderful connection between these healthy soils and your gut health.

11th MAY RETREAT – THE PAUSE
A beautiful one-day retreat in the heart of the Chilterns – Newbarn Farm in Buckinghamshire. A chance to learn from experts in their field how to embrace the peri/ menopause life stage. Whether you’re exhausted with symptoms or just want to know more to be prepared ahead of time, you’ll leave with a bespoke tool kit to help you mentally, emotionally and physically. The day has been curated by Rebecca Fleckney, author of The Chilterns Recipe Book and Mother of two.
